Miniature Figure Painting Class Description

Join us on Saturday, September 21, 2024, from 10:30 am to 1:00 pm, for a class devoted to painting miniature figures!
We will cover all the basic preparation, assembly, and painting aspects of the hobby. Our hands-on portion will be devoted to painting the flesh areas of a miniature figure.
While we will mention all sorts of possible paints you can use, we will concentrate on acrylic hobby paints and how to use them effectively.
Participants will be provided with a 1/6 scale fully cleaned and primed figure head to paint (from Scale Collectibles). By using this relatively large-scale head, the actual techniques for painting the flesh areas of a figure can be demonstrated more easily.
Participants will need to bring the following;
  1. Paintbrushes - We recommend sable brushes in sizes 0, 1 and 2. A flat brush might be helpful for applying the basecoat.
  2. Wet Palette - A wet palette is highly recommended and a homemade one will be provided. If you want to bring your own wet palette, feel free to do so. 
  3. Magnification - If you want any sort of magnification, please bring it.  We sell a nice, inexpensive lighted magnifier.
  4. Brush Cleaner – We will provide a simple cup of water for brush cleaning.  We use and sell the Sili-Coil brush cleaner tank.  It is available at the shop.
Paints will be provided. 
The class will be strictly limited to 10 students.

This place is awesome! They had just about every scale model manufacturer represented. Some of the decals in the huge drawers were out of production rare! The largest scale aircraft section between Little Rock and Kennesaw I have seen.
Half the hobby side is train stuff, and they have a large RC section. There was also a more thrift-type side that was interesting to browse. Just come and look!

Absolutely love this store. Am a kit builder and they have a wide collection of those, most any brand you can think of. I try and spend my money here as opposed to the almighty eBay or Amazon since I'd like to think I help keep this place open. All sorts and brands of paint to feed my airbrush. For non modelers, they have a phenomenal collection of RC, an inside slot car track, an offroad RC test track for smaller off road cars. An amazing collection of train models and trains. Ho type stuff. I'm not into those but they have a huge variety of this stuff. Then a bunch of collectibles and a card playing corner. Definitely worth a visit!

An amazing Mecca of rc/modeling hobby supplies and goods. The aisle of model paint will bring happy tears of elation to those who paint. Also they have an amazing crawler table set up for rc cars.

I have been a big fan of the store for a while, but the recent renovations are blowing me away. This is a great store full of every materials for all hobbies. Trains, RC cars and planes, models, games, and all the paints you could want. The staff are super friendly and will order anything they don’t have.
